Which materials need a clear explanation?

Ask the assessor to identify the affected floor assembly, wallboard and other absorbent components, and explain what observations support keeping, drying or removing each one. EPA says materials that soak up a lot of floodwater and cannot be cleaned and dried should be thrown away. It does not say every wet material in every leak must be discarded.

What does a drying record answer?

A provider can explain which areas it monitors and when it considers them dry enough for subsequent work. Ask whether monitoring and reconstruction are part of the same price. The extraction page addresses the earlier step of removing standing water.

Stay away from the affected area, do not touch electrical switches, outlets or appliances near water, and call a professional. If anyone is in danger, leave the area and call 911.

Can an online article confirm mold?

No. EPA describes mold growth on wet wood, drywall, carpet and furniture after flooding, but a web page cannot inspect a room. Seek a qualified assessment of the actual conditions rather than relying on a visual guess from outside the affected area.
